Pañcaślokaja Paraguhya Stotra

Published: November 4, 2025

In honor of Kārtika Pūrṇimā, Tripurā Tallikā is pleased to offer the first publication and translation of the Pañcaślokaja Paraguhya Stotra “Supremely Secret Hymn of Five Verses.” This incredibly rare hymn is revealed in the unpublished Śambhunirṇaya Tantra from the Ṣaḍanvayaśāmbhava tradition, a largely unknown South Indian tantric tradition that was intimately connected with, and eventually absorbed into, the early history of Śrīvidyā in South India.

This publication also includes the unpublished commentary to each verse by Śivānanda (fl.c. 1225-1275), South India’s foundational Śrīvidyā commentator and author of the famed Ṛjuvimarśinī commentary on the Nityāṣoḍaśikārṇava Tantra. The hymn and commentary is presented in Sanskrit along with an English translation and introduction to the Ṣaḍanvayaśāmbhava tradition by Brian Campbell. The goal of the publication is to help preserve and revitalize precious cultural and religious history by increasing access to, respect for, and amazement of the vibrant, diverse, and living tradition of Śrīvidyā.
